Unfortunately, the notice I got from the court didn't say anything about what happened. It just has a line that says "The court finds the defendant ..." with 3 checkboxes: Not Guilty, Guilty, and Dismiss. On mine the box is checked Dismiss.

Based on the fact that it took the ticketing officer about 3 or 4 months to submit the ticket in the first place I am going to guess that it was dismissed because the officer never submitted his side of the argument. On the ticket assassin website it says that happens roughly 30% of the time, which is a pretty strong incentive to at least try fighting the ticket by mail. Basically, you get a 30% chance at winning just for submitting the paperwork.

Since my ticket involved the use of radar, part of the argument layed out in my argument called for quite a bit of documentation about the radar equipment. Stuff like calibration records, radar training records, etc. It's possible the case was dismissed because that documentation was not presented.

Doesn't matter to me either way, I'm just glad my record is clean again.
