I just finished up this series today and was a bit disappointed. The show started off really well and showed a lot of promise. The characters are very well written and I really enjoyed all the crazy use of super deformed and other animation techniques used. However, after you get past the second disk things start to move about as fast as dragonball z ... and that just doesn't work for a drama series such as this. Every other episode started with "a synopsis of what's happened so far", and there must have been about 4 full episodes devoted to recap.
The ending is non-existant as well. I actually finished the last episode and immediately went to my computer to lookup if there was additional dvds that continue the series. I guess that the anime caught up with the manga and that's why the ending sucked, lame.
I can still appreciate that this was a neat anime in a lot of ways, but I don't think I would recommend it to anyone but hardcore anime fans.

One of my co-workers said she had a weird dream last night where she remember something about "A terrorist act being stopped in LAX on an Alaska Airlines flight." Obviously this doesn't mean a single thing, but for some reason she felt it was vivid enough that it might actually come true.
Anyways ... she told me to remember just in case it turned out to be true ... so here's a record of it.

This worked pretty well for last year so we'll see if I can keep things rolling.
1. get out there man! - travel is one of my passions, but it can certainly be tough to schedule. The goal for this year is to go on at least 2 trips to places I have not seen before.
2. sketchmania - this should go without saying, but it can be tough at times. The goal is simple, 1 sketchbook every 2 months, 100 pages, totally full. I should even do more ;)
3. stay in touch - i have problems with this. it's not that i don't think about people, it's more that i am just not good at long distance communication. Anyways, this is just a general one.
4. blog it - another "goes without saying one", but i put it here anyways. gotta keep the blog updated, as well as post plenty of art and photos.
5. stir fry? - With my busy schedule I don't cook much, but I should really fix that. My goal here is to cook at least twice a week, and have at least 10 good meals that I can make by the end of the year.
6. color you ass! - I haven't spent much time working with color in my art because I have been trying to focus on the basics first. Time to move on.
Well that's a start at least. Happy New Year!

I was in the mood to branch out today in the music store.
Atmosphere - Seven's Travels
Galleon - So I Begin
The atmosphere cd is a hip-hop cd I got a tip about, and its very good. Hopefully this will lead to more hip-hop cds. Galleon is a tough one to classify. The comment at the listening booth sayd "Duran Duran meets Daft Punk" ... I guess it's true, but I like the sound.

Well ... time to see how I did on my 2003 New Years Resolutions and evaluate what I accomplished last year.
Here's last years Resolutions post.
1. New Hours - Well getting a job pretty much assured this one, but I will say that I still like the more normal schedule.
2. Get Outside - Hmm. I definitely did a lot to involve myself in playing soccer and basketball for a while last year, but I feel I can do even better.
3. Moving On - Yup, done. And what a kewl new house it is! :-)
4. 100 Movies - Negative. I was going strong until I moved, then things got hectic and I wavered.
5. 100 Drawings - Ugh. I wish I wouldn't have said they had to be from an idea. Don't think I hit this mark, but I am still drawing and that is something.
6. Budget - Wahoo! I definitely did this one, although I got lazy from time to time.
7. Website - It's still here! I definitely got lazy come the end of the year, but I am working on new features now that will help keep it going :)
8. Music - Well I fuckin' excelled at this one by stepping up the pace to a cd every week!
Overall Score: 88,309
I think I did well :)
