I have talked about eSociety a bit before, but now things have taken a new turn. Google has aquired Dodgeball, a networking service based on SMS messaging.
I think I had this conversation with my sister back a while ago when I basically said something like, "All these networks like Friendster, The Facebook, Dodgeball, etc are all great, but it sucks that none of them can become *the* standard. It's too much of a pain when you have a few friends in each network and nobody is commiting to making one of the networks the best. What really needs to happen is for a big company like Yahoo, etc to pick up one of these services and make it mainstream."
Well, now that's happened. With Google handling Dodgeball now I'm sure you'll see a huge influx of people signing up and using the service as well as a whole bunch of new features. This could be a good sign.

It's true. I dunno why, but I suck at mail. Not email, but the old school style snail mail. For some reason I am always about 3 weeks behind in my mail because I get it and either drop it on my desk at home or throw it in my bag and forget about it. Then with outgoing mail I always carry it around with me for about 3 days before it finally ends up in the mailbox. sigh.
The funny thing is that I am quite good with email, check it all the time, quick and easy. All I can say is ... thank god for paying bills online 'cuz otherwise I'd have serious credit problems :/
What would be awesome is a postal service that collects all your snail mail and converts it to email for you ... that would rock. When are they gunna come out with that?

What a pimped out idea ... let people style their own equipment and order it online. I just ordered some pretty dope looking FC Futbol iD shoes ... schweet!

Now who says advertising doesn't work? I actually just followed the ad link to this off of Gizmodo. boing!

I recently picked up a couple of the new Miyazaki dvds, Porco Rosso and Nausicaa, neither of which I had seen before and I must say that Nausicaa is definitely one of Miyazaki's best films. Of course it's hard to rank them since they are all so damn good, but this film just blew me away.
Miyazaki's films are nothing short of genius and I would say I easily place him among the top 5 greatest filmmakers of all time. So if you've never seen one of his films then you've been missing out. I highly recommend checking out Nausicaa or any of Miyazaki's films, you won't be disappointed.

been in a buyin' frenzy lately.
DJ Mark Farina - Mushroom Jazz 5
Ian Pooley - Souvenirs
Basement Jaxx - The Singles (Limited Edition)
Blue States - Nothing Changes Under the Sun
Various - Hi Fidelity Lounge Vol 4
DJ Cam - DJ Kicks
yum. my biggest suprise was the Mark Farina album. i dunno why, but up until now i was never really impressed by his discs much, but Mushroom Jazz 5 just blew me away. booty bangin' goodness ... ahhh yeah ;) in fact, the only one that let me down was the Hi Fidelity lounge, which just sound really flat and uninteresting to me. Blue States - dope, DJ Cam - dope, Basement Jaxx - dope. can't go wrong ... ya just can't.

Okay, this place is not to be missed. It's a reasonably small and trendy little joint basically at the corner of 19th and Valencia that serves up dazzling Thai food. The interior is very sheik with a very modern feng shui kinda vibe. The food is beautifully presented, priced reasonably, and totally delicious.
If you're looking for a good SF restaurant to try I would definitely recommend it. Be careful of primetime fridays and saturdays as you will likely have to wait a good hour :/
